Sponsored by the Summers County Republican Executive Committee, the Batteau Beach event in Hinton drew about 120 people from Summers and surrounding counties.

Attendees enjoyed free barbecue, hotdogs, chips, coleslaw, and cold drinks.  Patriotic swag (flags, hats, stickers, pens were given away and the big event was the  gun raffle. The gun was a Smith & Wesson Model 642 snub nose, feather-light, hammerless .38 caliber revolver donated by State Senator Vince Deeds.

When the winning ticket was drawn, it was won (weirdly) by State Senator Jack David Woodrum, who immediately donated it back to the committee to be raffled again at a future event.

In attendance to talk with their constituents were:

·       Senator Jack David Woodrum (Senate district 10)

·       Delegate Roy Cooper (Delegate District 40)

·       Delegate Jordan Maynor (Delegate District 41)

·       Commissioner Ted Kula (County Commission)

·       Lynn Reed (County Clerk)

Bobbi Sorg (Hinton City Council)

Thanks to everyone who attended and the volunteers who made the whole thing a success, particularly, Brenda Webb, who spent so much time cooking and putting together the fabulous BBQ and coleslaw, as well as running the venue kitchen during the event.

Thanks to all our Volunteers and Committee members who made it all happen: Brenda Webb, Larry Fox, Jeff Lyon, Lee Ann Patton, Jack David Woodrum, Debbie Woodrum, Doctor Tank, Paula Hephner, Marshall Hephner, Roy Cooper, Valerie Pollock.
